Creating the final black and white design for the Inkworks building was an intensive process. We spent the first part of the semester familiarizing ourselves with Inkworks, their history and the areas of struggle represented in their book, Internationalism and Peace, Labor Movement, Racial Justice, Women’s Liberation, Queer Liberation, Environment and Public Health, Elections and Reform, Arts and Culture.
One of our major assignments was creating large scale blow up drawings of details in our first concept sketches. Below are three final drawings, out of many created by members of the class.
Smokie : Fela Kuti for AIDS awareness
Amy Ortiz : Environmental Injustice
Inkworks was very involved with the entire design process, giving us excellent feedback and guidance as we worked to complete the design. Here a group works together on one of the drafts for the final design.
Inkworks delegates visited us in class many times, helping us to create a final product that we would all be very happy with.
